چکیده

In addition to decreasing feeding costs, improving the efficiency of utilization of N directly addresses the general concern regarding the environmental footprint of animal production. Excretion of N, especially urinary, may become a potential source of water and air pollution, the latter as N2O, a green-house gas, or as small particulate aerosols having a negative effect on air quality [smog; National Research Council (NRC), 2003].

Effect of Feeding Total Mixed Ration on Methane Emission and Energy Metabolism in Crossbred Cattle and Buffaloes

This study evaluates the nutrients digestibility and energy metabolism of crossbred cattle and buffaloes fed different ratio of concentrate and roughage based ration. 12 adult animals were used of three groups of cattle and buffalo, the following: cattle (Bos taurus × Bos indicus) (n=6) and buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) (n=6). Three groups of animals, each consisting two crossbred cattle, and two b...

Veterinarians and dairy nutrition management: basic concepts and design-it-yourself—a veterinary-oriented ration evaluation program

Veterinarians increasingly play a major contributory role in dairy practice and management. Withincreasing importance of economical pressures, bioenvironmental limits and increasing demand for higherquality products, veterinarians are more involved in nutrition management and advice, both from aneconomical view of productivity and preventive aspects of veterinary medicine. The concept of food a...

Dietary Formulation with Poultry by-Product Meal on a Total Amino Acid vs. a Digestible Amino Acid Basis

Previous results indicated that performance of chicks fed a high level (10%) of poultry by-product meal(PBM) was lower than performance of chicks fed a corn-soybean meal (SBM) diet. The latter difference was hypothesized to be due to variation in digestible amino acid (AA) levels among the diets. This study evaluated diets containing PBM formulated on equivalent total AA basis vs. an equivalent...

The chemical composition, fatty acid and amino acid Profiles of the Muscle Tissue of Male and Female Liza aurata in the Caspian Sea, Iran

Abstract The present study aims at the identification and investigation of fatty acid and amino acid profiles in male and female Liza aurata in the southern part of the Caspian Sea, in reproductive (autumn) and non-reproductive (spring) seasons. The results showed difference between the total fatty acids levels in the sexes. Analyses of fatty acids indicated a higher percentage of C16:0, C...

Trace Mineral Requirements for Dairy Cattle

A host of nutrients are needed by cattle to support functions associated with life, and to grow, reproduce, and nourish their offspring (i.e., produce milk). A vast amount of resources have been expended to quantify the amounts of specific nutrients needed to perform these function so that economically efficient diets can be formulated. Feeding diets that provide adequate, but not excessive, am...
